Dr. Stoner Comfor-T

Dr. John Jacob Stoner, an adherent of homeopathy, moved to Wichita in 1884; by 1888 he was an established surgeon at Wichita City Hospital as well as the first recorded “Home Physician” for the Wichita Children’s Home. In 1891 he moved to Marion, Indiana, where he found great success as both doctor and pharmacy owner. Upon his death in 1921 at age 74, the Marion newspaper eulogized him as the owner of “the first automobile ever seen in Marion.” This throwback tee shows the good doctor looking hale and hearty in a March 12, 1896 newspaper ad.
